Gary Hamp

Gary Hamp, a partner in the Hong Kong office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Finance Department, specializes in acquisition and leveraged finance, distressed investments, structured secured lending and debt restructurings and workouts.

He advises a number of financial institutions, corporations and private equity sponsors including a large number of investment and commercial banks based in London and Hong Kong, including ANZ, Bank of China, GE Capital, HSBC and Standard Chartered Bank. He also works closely with leading debt and restructuring advisors.

Prior to joining Latham, Mr. Hamp was a partner in a global law firm's banking practice and led the Tier 1 ranked Hong Kong banking practice from 2008 to 2014. He worked for a number of clients across Asia, and led and developed key client relationships with financial institutions, focusing on leveraged finance and structured lending work.

Mr. Hamp is recognized as a leading individual for Banking and Finance by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific, IFLR1000 and Chambers Asia Pacific, where he was ranked as a first-tier individual for leveraged and acquisition finance in 2014.
