Glebe Barn

The Glebe is perfectly suited for individuals or large groups. The open plan living & dining room is extremely versatile for study groups, with plenty of space to hold meetings, workshops or presentations whilst the peaceful sunroom offers a quiet space away from the rest of the group. Conveniently located towards the centre of the island, within 1mile of the shop, café & restaurant, and close to fantastic beaches and hill walks, the Glebe Barn provides the ideal base for exploring the island. Situated beneath the majestic pitchstone ridge of “An Sgurr” the Glebe commands magnificent panoramic views across the harbour to the Scottish coastline beyond.

A large dining room/lounge with solid maple floor and central log fire provides a homely space for cozy evenings in and our new south facing sun-room makes the most of the superb sea views. Facilities include well equipped kitchen (double gas cooker, standing fridge freezer, fridge, microwave, kettle, blender, toaster etc), larder, drying room, laundry room with commercial sized washing machine/tumble drier, and a small laboratory. Beds are made up for your arrival but towels are not provided.

Please be aware that you cannot bring your car to the island. We are on a small island with no vehicular access. Eigg is reached by passenger ferry from Mallaig (year round with Caledonian MacBrayne) or Arisaig (summer only with Arisaig Marine). There are 1 or 2 sailings to Eigg a day in the summer and only 4 per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday) between late October to early April. Please ensure you check Caledonian Macbrayne or Arisaig Marine ferry timetables before booking your stay on Eigg.

For more information see Caledonian MacBrayne website for 'Small Isles timetables' and Arisiag Marine website for summer sailings to Eigg. The Visit Small Isles website has useful information on getting to and around the Small Isles.

We transport luggage from the pier for group bookings but are not able to do so for individual guests. The Glebe is just over a mile up a steep hill from the pier. Please book a taxi if you would prefer not to walk or have heavy luggage.
