Global Heat

“a hip-hoppin' rock fusion, funk rapping, break dancing good time!” Take positive hip hop, toss in funky soul music and daring break dance, and you have the recipe for Global Heat’s engaging show. Global Heat has spread its brand of the new Seattle sound to diverse audiences around the world, from the Shanghai International Music Festival (China), to Seattle’s Intiman Playhouse, to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival Green Show. Global Heat won the 2011 Jammin’ Challenge and has received awards from Seattle Next50, 4Culture, and Theatre Puget Sound.

Global Heat’s lead MC/b-boy/DJ Justin Murta has worked with Usher, Chris Brown and Richard Garcia and shared the stage with Cee Lo Green (The Voice), Macklemore, Method Man, Crash Test Dummies, Blake Lewis, Masta Killa & Inspectah Deck (Wu Tang), KRS 1, and many others. His recent tours of SE Asia led to headlining spots and corporate sponsorships for large shows and TV appearances. Global Heat's front line also has female and male soulful vocals backed by keyboards/synths, guitar, pumpin' bass, and drums.

Global Heat's sound is influenced by The Roots, Macklemore, Mark Ronson, James Brown, Earth Wind & Fire, and the world of Afro-Funk. [+]
