Hashim M. Mooppan

Hashim Mooppan's practice focuses on appellate advocacy and legal strategy. A former clerk to Justice Antonin Scalia, Hashim primarily handles especially complex and important cases. In 2015, Hashim was named a Rising Star in Appellate Law by Law360.

Hashim argued before the U.S. Supreme Court in N.C. State Bd. of Dental Examiners v. FTC, which presented an important question concerning the antitrust state-action exemption. Hashim also argued before the D.C. Circuit in LaRoque v. Holder, which concerned the justiciability of a constitutional challenge to the 2006 reauthorization of Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act. [1]
