High Sunday is a hip-hop group based in Los Angeles, California. The band combines the talents of Ike Deezl, Jack Singa, Evan Lewis, and Nick Fazekas.
Deezl is originally from San Pedro, CA; Singa is originally from Yuba City, CA; Ev is originally from Mississippi; and, Nick is originally from Wichita Falls, TX.
Nick and Ike worked together extensively for over ten years together using the stage/band name Enfamus, a hard-rocking rap duo that began in Isla Vista at UCSB and migrated to Los Angeles. After meeting Singa at a house party and hearing him sing, Nick invited Singa for a session and things came together quickly and smoothly. The three began to sing, write and record together, eventually leading to the formation of High Sunday. After hearing a live performance of mostly acoustic music, Evan Lewis joined the forces of High Sunday with beautiful vocals and a mighty sax.
Not long after, in their quest to create the live band hip hop experience, the band had the privilege of hooking up with professional drummer Eddie Core. He added his drum mastery to the band's live show, and studio production and guided the band into the next level of the music business. In addition to playing a regular circuit of Los Angeles venues with the band Armada, Eddie has toured across the U.S. with Pullman Standard, and played with Thin Deep Cuts, Jayar, Monique Hughes, Solaz, Teddybear Suicide, as well as many other studio artists. His endorsements include Soultone Cymbals, Nuco Clothing Company, FutureSonics in-ear monitors, Tycoon Percussion products, and Kickport.
Influences range from jazz greats including Ella Fitzgerald and Dizzy Gillespie to Hip Hop greats like N.W.A. and Eminem to psychedelic artists such as Hendrix and The Doors... it goes on and on through reggae, classical, pop, folk and country music. High Sunday is an eclectic group with an impactful, and equally soulful, sound [+]
