Jake Levine

Jake Levine is a singer/songwriter born and bred in Livingston, New Jersey. At a fairly young age he developed an interest in the arts, always drawing and filming. At the age of eight he began to take formal piano lessons but opted out of the strict training only to pick up the guitar two years later. His father then introduced the blues stylings of Eric Clapton and the folk anthems of Bob Dylan, who would ultimately shape the way Jake approached music for years to come. Currently studying at the Purchase College Conservatory of Music, Jake continues to transform from project to project, always experimenting but always coming back to that raw folk sound we all know and love. In late January of 2014, Jake's blues/folk rock project, The Howler Weary, came out with their debut album, Travel On. After gaining some traction in the lower east side at venues such as Pianos, Left Field Bar and Arlene's Grocery, and tearing the roof off Langosta Lounge and The Saint down in Asbury Park, Jake turns again to his folk roots for a solo album estimated to come out in Spring of 2015. Jake is also the lead guitar player behind singer/songwriter Pheobe Heretz who is scheduled to release her debut album within the later months of 2015. [+]
