Jeffrey James sings a lot like he talks–a little bit lower and more robust than you'd expect. From stage to studio, his music delivers a soul groove with a rock edge.
Jeffrey's 2013 Wide Awake Project focuses on writing, recording, and making available new songs throughout the year. The songs are tied together by Jeffrey's voice over soulful rhythms. His most recent release, Bad Woman, was placed in the Season Two Premiere of ABC's hit show, Nashville. The project EP will be released with two new songs in March 2014.
The 2012 EP, Make Your Way To The Flashing Lights, is a compilation of songs that range from simple hooks, and blues shuffle to dirty dap-tone like horns or an ominous arrangement of strings.
James continues to tour both colleges and venues around the US. The past three years of touring included opening for Hanson and Rooney and winning Vanderbilts Rites of Spring band contest to share the stage with Sarah Bareilles, The National, and Public Enemy.
Since 2012 Gibson Guitars partnered with Jeffrey James to promote the new Min-eTune automatic tuner on the limited Studio Edition Les Paul using a stripped down version of his song Falling. It was also used as Gibson's featured ad throughout the 2013 Nashville Film Festival. [+]
