Jiyeon Lee-Lim is a partner in the New York office of Latham & Watkins where she serves as global Chair of the Tax Department. Her practice focuses on international and corporate tax, with a particular emphasis on financial products, capital markets transactions, securitization transactions and cross-border tax planning. Ms. Lee-Lim has joined the firm in 1988 and has previously served as the head of the firm’s International Tax Group.
Ms. Lee-Lim has represented a large number of US and multinational financial institutions in connection with a wide range of financing transactions and debt and equity derivatives, and advised many investment managers in asset-backed securities offerings and other structured finance transactions. She also represented numerous US and international corporations in connection with private and registered securities offerings as well as corporate reorganizations and international tax planning and advised sovereign investors in connection with inbound investments.
Ms. Lee-Lim has been on the Executive Committee of Tax Section of the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) since 2003 and is a co-chair of the NYSBA Tax Section Committee on Securitizations and Structured Finance. She is also a member of Tax Forum. Ms. Lee-Lim is a frequent speaker at a number of conferences.
