Joe McMurrian

Joe McMurrian is a new breed of Blues man. His sound is a ground breaking mix of old America and beyond creating an intense soundscape armed only with a guitar and voice.

He is an extremely powerful live performer and story teller who can blow the roof off any stage while feeding the heart with honesty, warmth and truth. He has learned from the old masters, lived the music, survived the life and carries forward a valuable tradition. McMurrian is known for his engaging songwriting, guitar wizardry, warm soulful vocals, wit and unforgettable powerful live performances. At the heart of this is his knack for storytelling, bringing characters—from the faceless to the legendary—to strikingly real life while freely transitioning between structure and improvisation.

As a Finger style/slide guitar master, he blends flavors of old Blues, Hill music, Jazz and Rock all together into a true American gumbo.
Joe Has toured with or shared the stage with legends such as Honey Boy Edwards, Jack Owens, Louisiana Red, R.L Burnside, Johnny Winter, John Mayhall, Roy Rodgers, George Thorogood, Jack Owens, Derek Trucks, Leo Bud Welch, Robert Cray, Roy Rodgers, Keb Mo, Eddie Kirkland, Robyn Trower, John McEuen, Paul Geramia and even members of Metalica back in 1987!.
