John C. Evans Ph.D.

John Evans is an intellectual property lawyer, with a primary focus on patent litigation. He represents clients in numerous patent disputes in courts across the United States and in the United States International Trade Commission.

John has experience in all phases of patent litigation, including prelitigation investigations, discovery, motions practice, fact and expert depositions and testimony, claim construction, summary judgment, trials, and appeals in the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He has briefed and argued claim construction and summary judgment, taken and defended expert and fact depositions, served on trial teams in bench and jury trials, and authored many important briefs. For example, in a recent case on behalf of a patent owner, he co-argued a Markman hearing that led to favorable claim construction rulings, followed by a favorable settlement. And in another recent case for an accused infringer, he second-chaired Markman and summary judgment hearings that led to a complete win based on indefiniteness of the asserted patent. [1]
