John H. Grady III

Jack Grady represents clients in litigation, transactions, investigations, and regulatory matters involving all environmental media. Jack has represented clients in the defense of civil and criminal environmental enforcement actions, private party environmental claims, and other environmental litigation. Jack has successfully defended CERCLA parent-operator liability cases and has served as common counsel to a PRP group. He also has assisted clients in the creation, sale, and purchase of emission reduction credits and recently negotiated a carbon sequestration agreement for the creation of greenhouse gas emission credits. He regularly manages environmental due diligence and contract negotiations in mergers and acquisitions. Jack's practice also has included general litigation matters, including defense claims under the federal False Claims Act.

While at the Department of Justice he handled environmental enforcement matters under CERCLA, RCRA, the Clean Air Act, and the Clean Water Act. He served as lead trial counsel on several matters resulting in favorable trial judgments and assisted in the defense of these judgments on appeal. [1]
