John Stephen

John Stephen represents private equity sponsors, corporate borrowers, traditional lenders, and alternative capital providers in a wide range of domestic and international finance transactions, with a focus on leveraged finance, debt restructurings, and distressed situations.

Prior to joining Jones Day in 2015, John was a senior solicitor at a leading Scottish law firm, where he advised on local and cross-border banking matters in a variety of practice areas, including project, real estate, and fund finance; debt trading; and restructuring. During this time he gained a significant amount of experience in the energy sector and spent eight months on secondment to the renewable energy finance team of a U.K. bank. [1]
