John Beacher is a dynamic singer songwriter, community keystone, hope enthusiast, and sought after Americana act from Bucks County, PA, with a distinct vocal style, dripping with soul and full of funk. John scats, swoons and serenades, whether performing solo, with various musicians as a duo, or with his back up band, The Common Ground. His music is rich in lyrical content and vocal harmonies, as well as improvisations and dance-your-pants-off rhythms. John Beacher has been featured several times on WXPN in Philadelphia, including on The Gene Shay show and Helen Leicht’s “Live at Lunch”, holiday featured artist special, and more, plus his music is steadily making its way into the regular WXPN rotation. John Beacher has opened shows for Rusted Root, Cheryl Wheeler, Leon Russell, Marshall Tucker, Elephant Revival, Rose Hill Drive, Hogmaw and more. Beacher goes beyond the stage by reaching out to bring music full circle, supporting and sustaining an entire artist community as the founder and emcee of Beacher’s Community Stage located in New Hope, PA. Each week, John hosts a multitude of performers, from seasoned professional musicians to emerging songwriters in a community stage format. This ever-growing event draws artists from near and far and has become a destination for many a traveling troubadour.
John Beacher’s new album RISE UP is due out in autumn 2014. [+]
