John Hvezda ('vē-ez-də)is an independent American signer-songwriter, living in the Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin area. A child of the Midwest and a grandchild of the isolated south, John grew up on the flat farmlands of Poplar Grove, Illinois and at a young age was instilled with a love and passion for folk music. John's lyrics are crafted with method, precision, and honesty. Although he fulfills the roles of a musician, vocalist, artist, and entertainer, John's capacity to entice the listener with raw and compelling stories make him above all a storyteller.
John frequently performs at local venues and has hosted open mic sessions throughout the Midwest. In Addition, he has had the privilege of working alongside countless talented musicians through the song festivals hosted by the Holiday Music Motel in Sturgeon Bay. John's participation in Dark Songs, Love on Holiday, and most recently Steel Bridge Song Fest have afforded him opportunities to grow as an artist and collaborate with musicians from all over the world.
