Joseph B. Sconyers

Joe Sconyers advises banks and other financial institutions in connection with securities-related disputes. His practice emphasizes counseling corporate trustees and other structured finance transaction parties in offensive and defensive litigation, trust instruction proceedings, and government inquiries, and concerning institutional risk management.

Joe's experience, including prior to joining Jones Day, includes three federal district court trials. In one of those cases, he defended an investment adviser and its shareholders in an equity dispute. He also has represented two of the "Big Four" public audit firms, one in connection with a regulatory investigation involving an audit client and related private litigation, and the other in a malpractice action. Joe also has defended corporate directors and officers in merger-related and other shareholder derivative actions. [1]
