Joshua R. Nightingale

Josh Nightingale practices all aspects of patent-related work in the electrical and computer areas, including client counseling, patent prosecution, appeals before the Federal Circuit, and U.S. district court litigation. He is also actively involved with the PTAB Litigation group at Jones Day and has represented clients in more than 12 post grant trials at the USPTO's Patent Trial and Appeal Board. Josh represents clients as both petitioners and patent owners in inter partes review (IPR) and other contested proceedings before the PTAB.

Josh also has an active patent prosecution and counseling practice, preparing and prosecuting U.S. patent applications on behalf of domestic and foreign clients, with an emphasis on semiconductors, electrical circuits, computer software, and telecommunication technologies. Josh has represented clients in a wide range of industries, including Avid Technology, Carnegie Mellon University, Educational Testing Service, Marvell Semiconductor, Sandisk, SAS Institute, Synopsys, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, Xilinx, Visa International, and many others.
