Kala Farnham

"This is what happens when a truly gifted musician invests a lifetime perfecting her skills but somehow maintains the spontaneity of a young and curious poet. It is rare to find both paths intertwining so comfortably together..." - Don Tassone, The Mediator Stage (Providence RI)

Kala's unique songwriting has been described as a reinvention of the traditional folk made popular by artists such as Joni Mitchell and Joan Baez; she is praised for her complex classical undertones and playful dose Broadway theatricality onstage, reminiscent of modern day performers Tori Amos and Regina Spektor. Her affinity for poetry and creative writing is evident through signature lyricism that springs to life with heartfelt and creative storytelling, cultural references, and rich metaphor.

Kala has shared the stage with the likes of Tony Bennett, Don McLean, Christine Ohlman. She has appeared at such venues as The Garde Arts Center, The Regent Theater, The Bushnell's Autorino Hall, Six Flags New England, The Plaza at Patriots Place, and Arnold Palmer's Kingdom Cup Invitational. Her 2014 album release with Signature Sounds Studio featured the touring guitarist of J Geils band, Duke Levine.
