Katie Lynott's practice focuses on intellectual property litigation, representing clients in patent and copyright infringement cases, as well as matters involving claims of unfair competition, trade secret misappropriation, interference, and breach of contract. She has provided service to numerous corporate clients in the various stages of litigation, including pleading, discovery, motion practice, trial, and appeals. Katie has significant experience with e-discovery matters, including data collection and processing, and has led various contract attorney reviews. She has a broad range of litigation experience, including drafting motions, conducting legal research and analysis, taking and defending depositions, working with consultants and expert witnesses, assisting in internal investigations, and preparing for trial, including compiling trial exhibits, preparing jury materials, and outlining witness examination.Her jury trial experience includes a month-long copyright infringement trial that ultimately resulted in a client win on post-trial motions and at the Ninth Circuit, and a recent patent infringement trial that resulted in a full jury verdict for the client. She was also a core trial team member in the Eastern District of Virginia (the "Rocket Docket"), where the case settled on the eve of trial after favorable pretrial rulings for the client. Katie also has worked on pro bono matters, representing victims of domestic violence seeking restraining orders and child support.
