Kelly Campos

Kelly Campos' dynamic vocals, infectious performances, and boundless amounts of energy have made her live performances legendary. Kelly is influenced vocally by powerhouses like Aretha Franklin and Janis Joplin in addition to crooners like Sam Cooke and Sade, but she is definitely her own artist. Kelly effortlessly melds the intensity of rock with the melodic passion of soul music with a captivating way of musically kicking your butt.

Kelly Campos, formerly known simply as Jelly, has been writing and performing music for over 15 years in the Detroit area where she was the front man for the funk/alternative group Jelly's Pierced Tattoo. As part of that group, Kelly performed at venues across the country and released three CD's. Kelly was also a main stage performer at Second City Detroit and a founding member of Detroit’s critically acclaimed Mosaic Youth Theatre.

Kelly, now a Chicagoland resident, now has a full band to perform tracks from her latest CD, Coolest Chick, which was released in April of 2014. It is her first as a solo performer, and features eight original tracks including the heavy hitting “Brotha, No” and the upbeat “Funky Rhythm”. The CD is a tight blend of Kelly’s soulful voice mixed with the rock/funk style of her band mates. [+]
