Hailing from the northeast tip of Illinois, Kills Again is a heavy alternative rock band with a progressive edge. Comprised of 5 members, their range of musical influences draws from diverse backgrounds in rock, grunge, pop, punk, funk, and metal. Their self-titled EP is being released independently in the fall of 2015. This four song debut takes listeners on a ride through the band's core sound fronted by lead singer Mel Senese. Her vocals come from a very intense emotional place. At times she weaves with finesse through heavy distorted guitars and a driving rhythm section providing a balance and contrast of hard and heavy with soft and light. Other times she takes the reigns and unleashes primal screams that command attention and raise heart rates. Her lyrics take listeners on a journey through her very personal thoughts and feelings documenting her experiences with love and loss, enlightenment and heartache, lust and apathy. The tightness and groove heard in the interplay between the rhythm section and guitars is the result of decades of combined experience shared by the bands veteran musicians. Their songs range from riotous mosh-pit inducing jams, to groove-driven dance-party igniting pop-rock anthems. Kills Again are consistently playing at venues all summer long across northeastern Illinois and south eastern Wisconsin. In addition to consistently gigging locally and the release of the EP this fall, Kills Again is writing new material for their yet-to-be-titled full-length album scheduled for release in the spring of 2016.
