La Domitienne 2011 Pique Poul France

La Domitienne winery is the latest estate built by the Bonfils family who also owners of the historic Chateau de Vaugelas in Corbieres and Chateau Millegrand in Minervois (each in the Languedoc region of southern France). The name La Domitienne comes from the Via Domitia, the road linking ancient Rome with Cadiz, Spain. This historic route (through modern day France) bisects the Picpoul de Pinet appellation and divides it into two very distinct terriors. The 2011 Pique Poul is a blend from vineyards on each side of this division and the result is a crisp white wine with aromas of white flowers and lemon zest with citrus fruit flavors, accented by a subtle minerality. A refreshing alternative to your mainstream white wines! [+]
