Laura W. Sawyer

Lauri Sawyer has a broad-based federal and state commercial litigation and arbitration practice. Lauri has litigated complex cases involving a variety of claims, including financial products, shareholders and securities claims, insurance coverage, and executive compensation. Lauri also has been involved in litigation related to battles for corporate control. Additionally, she has experience with federal and state appeals, at all levels.

Lauri has extensive experience in the international arena, particularly in disputes arising from financial products and foreign investments. She has participated in foreign court proceedings and appeals, as well as worldwide discovery and enforcement efforts. Lauri's international arbitration experience includes arbitrations pursuant to the AAA, ICC, and UNCITRAL rules, as well as ad hoc arbitrations. Lauri is experienced in the enforcement of arbitration awards and collateral proceedings designed to protect arbitration clauses. Prior to joining Jones Day, she prosecuted several significant bilateral investment treaty disputes on behalf of foreign investors. [1]
