(including the £1 billion Northern Rock acquisition from the U.K. government and the €1.12 billion investment in Bank of Ireland); Jupiter Property's £1 billion takeover of Minerva; Zoran Corporation's $679 million merger with CSR; Procter & Gamble's sale of its European tissue and paper towel business and $470 million acquisition of Ambi Pur from Sara Lee; ElectricInvest's £1.6 billion takeover of Viridian; Goode Partners' and Lion Capital's acquisition of AllSaints; and the contested takeover of domnick hunter.
