Lisbeth Savill

Lisbeth (Libby) Savill is a partner in the firm’s Entertainment, Sports & Media Practice.

Ms. Savill represents major studios, independent producers and distributors of film and television content and financiers, focusing on commercial work in the media and entertainment sectors, including:

  • Creation and financing of audiovisual content
  • Distribution and licensing arrangements
  • Funds and co-financing arrangements
  • Acquisition of audiovisual rights, including film libraries
  • The purchase, sale and financing of entertainment companies

Ms. Savill has been recognised as a leading lawyer in the film and television industries for many years. She is also actively involved in issues important to the entertainment sector. She recently served as the only lawyer on the 2011/2012 and 2013/2014 Film Policy Review, which the UK government commissioned to make recommendations for the future of the film industry. She is also the Deputy Chair of the British Film Institute, the lead body for film in the UK. She was an invited member of Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs experts panel regarding film tax credits and a former board member of Film London.

Chambers UK ranks Ms. Savill in Band 1 for Media & Entertainment: Film and Television (2012-2016) and named her as a “star individual” (2010-2011). She was named a Variety “Dealmaker” (2009, 2013 and 2015).
