Louis P. Gabel

Louie Gabel, a former federal prosecutor, represents businesses and individuals involved in complex commercial and class action litigation, as well as government investigations and federal and state criminal and regulatory proceedings. He also has broad experience representing clients in Foreign Corrupt Practice Act matters, False Claims Act litigation, antitrust matters, and contract disputes.

Louie is a former Assistant United States Attorney in Detroit. During his tenure he prosecuted cases involving multimillion dollar securities fraud, telemarketing fraud, money laundering, bribery, public corruption, embezzlement, identity theft, federal racketeering (RICO), and criminal tax violations. Among his numerous trial victories, Louie successfully convicted a Detroit police officer engaged in more than $1 million of mortgage fraud, national leaders of a violent motorcycle club headquartered in Detroit, leaders of one of the largest drug trafficking organizations in Michigan history, and an international gun trafficker. He also has successfully briefed and argued multiple appeals before the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. [1]
