Lower Dover

Lower Dover is where Indiana Jones would have stayed with his girlfriend, chums or kids! No other lodge is as close to the main road yet so wild and centrally located in western Belize. Our clean, safe, exotic jungle paradise is 1/2 mi /.8 km from the George Price (Western) Highway that connects Belize City with Guatemala. Located in Unitedville in the Cayo District, between Belmopan & San Ignacio, it’s a base camp for those traveling from the BZE international airport, the coast, cayes, or Tikal.

Despite it’s easy highway access, Lower Dover is secluded on 99 acres of old growth rainforest on the Belize River, on top of a newly discovered Maya ceremonial center (est. population 15,000 in 900AD).

Only in the area for 3 nights? Then guests are thrilled by the ATM Cave, Tikal, Cave Tubing or Zip-Lining all-inclusive tours. On a backpacker budget? Then self-explore Lower Dover’s medicine trails, swim in natural pools, relax in hammocks or go to Xunantunich, Cahal Pech, Inland Blue Hole, the Belize Zoo or hang out in nearby San Ignacio.
