Emerging artist Machaela Sullivan is breaking her way into the pop-country music scene! Born in Chicago, IL, Machaela was raised in a family that has been more than supportive of her love of music. From the time she was able to talk, Machaela took an immediate interest and desire for singing and performing. Currently studying exercise science at Florida State University, Machaela has decided to take time off from school to take her performing to a new level!
Machaela Sullivan’s unique musical style is influenced by a wide variety of artists including: Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Sam Hunt, and Cassadee Pope. In addition to these artists, Machaela grew up listening to the music that her parents grew up with, adding a unique 80’s twist to her natural pop/country style.
Up until the past couple of years, Machaela’s musical training was limited. She engaged in occasional vocal lessons, participated in church and school choirs, and proceeded to teach herself guitar. However, in the summer of 2013, Machaela was accepted into an artist development program in Nashville, TN called PCG Nashville. This opportunity provided Machaela the ability to work with some of the top vocal, performance, and guitar coaches in Nashville and has drastically informed her about the music business. PCG Nashville has helped launch Machaela Sullivan as a young artist and allowed her to establish her unique musical style.
In March of 2015, Machaela Sullivan finished her first E.P. titled Don’t Think About It with producer Stephen Leiweke, which will be available on iTunes and Spotify. This step in Machaela’s musical career has really heightened her motivation to turn her dream into a reality. “If I can turn music, the one thing that I am truly passionate about, into a career, even if I’m just getting by, that beats out working in a field that makes me want to rip my hair out every day. Money can only do so much for my mental health. I need music to be a main aspect of my everyday life.”
