Dr. Malte Stübinger is an associate in the Hamburg office of Latham & Watkins. He practices in the firm’s Litigation & Trial Department.
Mr. Stübinger advises both German and international companies and individuals in all areas of dispute resolution.
Prior to joining Latham & Watkins, Mr. Stübinger wrote a PhD thesis from a comparative law perspective whilst working as a research scholar at the Max Planck Institute for comparative and international Private Law in Hamburg. He assisted Prof. Dr. Holger Fleischer in his research in the field of corporate and capital markets law.
During that time, he spent one term as a visiting fellow at the University of Cambridge (UK) and committed himself to the education of law students by coaching teams in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot.
Mr. Stübinger completed parts of his practical legal training in the corporate department of the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection, at a civil law senate at the Court of Appeals in Hamburg, as well as at the Hamburg and Washington, D.C. offices of an international commercial law firm.
His PhD thesis “Participant Liability and Financial Market Misinformation in Germany and the USA” was published in 2015.
Mr. Stübinger is a member of the Deutscher Juristentag e.V. (Association of German Jurists) and the Vis Moot Court Alumni Association of the University of Hamburg.
