Margot L. King

Margot King is a projects and corporate lawyer with experience in the mining and energy sectors, infrastructure projects, and mergers and acquisitions.

Prior to joining Jones Day in 2014, Margot practised in Western Australia, Bulgaria, and London where she acted for companies in the resources sector, including advising a major oil and gas company on its takeover bid by auction for AIM-listed Cove Energy (a company with assets in three African jurisdictions), Rio Tinto on joint venture projects in Western Australia, Exxon Mobil on the US$19 billion PNG LNG Project, and Italian electricity company ENEL on its bid for the Belene Nuclear Power Plant. In addition, Margot was seconded to Rio Tinto for six months as legal counsel on the procurement team. [1]
