Maria Pilar Hoye is a partner and local Chair of the Environment, Land & Resources Department in the Los Angeles office of Latham & Watkins. Her work in this area includes advising clients on numerous environmental, regulatory and technical issues associated with developing, remediating and managing property in California.
Ms. Hoye is actively involved in numerous community and charitable causes and actively volunteers her time to providing pro bono representation to nonprofit charitable organizations and individuals. For example, she recently settled a federal class action case on behalf of children with special needs in juvenile hall facilities. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the PUENTE Learning Center, a nonprofit organization designed to meet the educational needs of youth and adults in East and South Los Angeles.
She is a frequent lecturer on various environmental topics, is a member of the California State Bar and a former adjunct professor of Environmental Law at the University of Southern California Law School. She is a member of Latham & Watkins' Training and Career Enhancement Committee and Diversity Committee.
