Marissa Boynton is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins. Ms. Boynton’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation and white collar defense. She has experience conducting internal investigations and representing individuals and corporations, including foreign clients, in government investigations and criminal prosecutions. Ms. Boynton also has experience advising clients on compliance issues relating to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and consumer protection laws and has managed several cyber intrusion/data breach responses. Ms. Boynton has served on trial teams and represented clients in a variety of litigation matters in state and federal courts and has experience with all stages of complex civil litigation matters.
In addition, Ms. Boynton donates a substantial amount of time to pro bono work. Some matters she has taken on include representing a foster parent in guardianship proceedings, advocating on behalf of homeless individuals regarding laws criminalizing homelessness and advising non-profit organizations on FCPA compliance.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Boynton clerked for United States District Judge Liam O’Grady in Alexandria, Virginia.
