Marita's 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

"This gigantic wine made solidly in the modern cult Napa style of dazzling power. Massive in blackberries, black currants and cedar flavors, with a pleasantly earthy edge of green olives and carob. Extremely fine." Wine EnthusiastDark garnet. A jumble of fruit and spice and tarry aromas give this wine a mix of personalities: blackcurrant jam, clove, caramel and plum on the sunny fruit-driven side; tar, tobacco, leather and black olive make up the earth-driven brooding dark side. In the mouth, dried cherry, dark chocolate, tobacco and hints of smoked meat flavors integrate with a full, yet soft-textured tannin structure and linger through the finish. Decant at least one hour prior to serving to allow the full range of aroma and flavors to express in the wine. [+]
