Mary Ellen White

Mary Ellen White has extensive experience in the areas of employee benefits and deferred compensation plans. She has counseled clients in all aspects of qualified retirement plans, including the employee benefit aspects of corporate acquisitions, mergers, dispositions, plan terminations, plan investments, fiduciary matters, and plan governance.

Prior to joining Jones Day, Mary Ellen was senior managing counsel for a major U.S. retailer. In that role she advised on the administration, amendment, and termination of defined benefit and defined contribution plans, including the merger, spin-off, and termination of plans following several major corporate acquisitions. She also counseled the administrative and investment committees of the plans on investment decisions and other fiduciary duties. [1]
