La Mekerra Vineyard is named after a river in Algeria, which flows near the childhood home of Philippes father. After finding this hillside land in 2001, at an elevation of 2,500 feet, it took plenty of time and energy to develop the 10-acre vineyard. But this cabernet franc/merlot blend is precisely what an unusual and amazing site can give - a wine with lots of character.
