Mercer Island Reporter

Founded in 1954, The Mercer Island Reporter is a paid weekly newspaper serving the affluent Mercer Island. This community of 22,000 people is located in the center of Lake Washington, the second-largest natural lake in Washington state. The Interstate-90 floating bridge, the second-longest floating bridge in the world, links this community to Seattle to the west and Bellevue to the east — a boon for island commuters and shoppers. Mercer Island has nationally ranked public schools, acres of parks, and a thriving arts community. Island residents are engaged and active in many civic, social and philanthropic activities. They are educated and diverse, focused on sustainability and the future. The Town Center, located adjacent to I-90, has been undergoing a renewal with new upscale condos and shops. The advent of light rail to constructed on the center lanes of I-90, will add more accessibility for Islanders and visitors alike. [1]
