Michael Akman

Michael Akman is a projects and commercial attorney with experience in energy, infrastructure, finance, and real estate. He has advised public and private companies as well as government clients on numerous complex transactions including public-private partnerships, energy and infrastructure projects, project finance, credit facilities, acquisition finance, and other corporate matters.

Prior to joining Jones Day, Michael worked in the New York office of a large law firm where he represented banks, private equity funds, and other financial institutions and corporate clients on a wide range of syndicated and leveraged finance transactions, project financings, restructuring transactions, asset sales, and single and portfolio asset financings. He has significant experience with solar energy projects, having worked on utility-scale projects and portfolio financings of small roof-top systems, and with the financing of large portfolios of commercial mortgage loans and real properties.
