Michael Yoshii is a partner of the firm’s Tokyo office and leads the M&A practice in Tokyo, where he represents buyers, sellers and financial institutions in numerous cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic investments, both inbound into and outbound from Japan. Mr. Yoshii is also active in project development and finance, and is experienced in advising project companies, sponsors and lenders on a number of landmark project development and finance transactions in Philippines, Indonesia and elsewhere in Asia.
Mr. Yoshii has been named as a leading attorney in all of the Chambers Asia-Pacific guides for Corporate/M&A since 2008, and is described as a lawyer who "is a zealous defender of his clients' interests whilst also being co-operative and results-oriented," "knows the law inside-out and completely immerses himself in a transaction" and "attracts praise for his polished negotiation skills." Mr. Yoshii has resided in Japan since 1991, and is a member of the California and Daini Tokyo Bar Associations.
