Michael Weir

Mike Weir is a corporate lawyer with extensive private equity experience. He advises PE sponsors and other financial sponsor clients across all areas of corporate practice, including public takeovers, domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, joint ventures, and other portfolio assistance. He also focuses on real estate M&A, having acted for sovereign and other large institutional real estate funds on a number of transactions in the sector.

Mike's selected recent experience prior to joining Jones Day in 2014 includes representing: Blackstone Real Estate Partners on the sale of its 50 percent interest in the Broadgate Estate to GIC, the acquisition of the Adelphi Building, and the acquisition of Devonshire Square; Darwin Private Equity on the acquisition of Esendex; ICS (a Blackstone portfolio company) on the acquisitions of Hobson Prior and of the Pathology Group; Prologis on the acquisition from London Metric of a portfolio of warehouse properties; the buyer on the acquisition of Shell Mex House; and the management shareholders on the sale of Ideal Stelrad to Bregal.
