Victim of airstrike
A photograph of him, a dazed and bloodied rescued from a destroyed building in Aleppo after an air strike has caused outrage around the world. Images of Omran sitting in an ambulance were released by activists and have since been shared widely on social media. His parents and three siblings are believed to have survived the attack. The startling image shows him covered head to toe with dust and so disoriented that he seems barely aware of an open wound on his forehead. He was taken to a hospital known as M10 and later discharged. Dr Mohammad, a surgeon in Aleppo who declined to give his surname, treated the young Omran when he arrived at hospital.
