Miguel Eaton focuses his practice on complex ERISA litigation and employee benefits matters. In addition, he has significant experience defending against claims under the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act.A significant portion of Miguel's practice involves multiemployer plans, including counseling contributing employers, litigating withdrawal liability and trustee deadlocks, as well as advising on M&A matters involving multiemployer pension plans. He also advises clients' benefit committees as they evaluate participants' claims for pension, health and welfare, and disability benefits. Miguel's litigation experience includes defending companies in stock drop cases, fiduciary duty class actions, and retiree health cutback cases, as well as companies being investigated by the Department of Labor and the Department of Justice.
