molly sullivan

Sullivan began writing songs in her late-teens as an acoustic-guitar-wielding singer songwriter. Over the next few years she expanded her sonic and lyrical palette, performing in a folk trio, electric-pop-rock group, No No Knots, and most recently, with a full backing band providing weird and dark turns to r&b-tinged folk-pop. The real prize of any performance is the lush and dynamic vocal-scape she creates, with wild yelps incorporated over a bed of warm, sugary melodies. Sullivan derives influences from a variety of artists, including the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Cranberries, Mirah, and Joanna Newsom. [+]
