Monika S. Wiener

Monika Wiener's practice focuses on bankruptcy and financial restructuring. She regularly represents debtors, creditors, creditor groups, indenture trustees, and other parties in interest in complex chapter 11 cases and out-of-court restructurings throughout the United States.

Monika's recent experience includes representing several holders of senior notes issued by Travelport Holdings Ltd. in connection with a highly successful, $3 billion out-of-court restructuring transaction. Prior to joining Jones Day, she was a key member of the legal team that represented the Los Angeles Dodgers in their historic chapter 11 case. She also had extensive involvement in the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy case, in which she represented the holders of more than $4 billion in original principal amount of structured notes issued by a Dutch affiliate of the U.S. debtors. Monika also has substantial experience in bankruptcy-related litigation, having represented both plaintiffs and defendants in fraudulent transfer, breach of fiduciary duty, preference, and other types of actions.
