MoonWalker Cellars’ 2013 Chardonnay was produced from vineyard in the western (cooler) portion of Santa Barbara County. Here, the vines are closer to the ocean and are thus exposed to the ocean breezes, cooling fog, and desirable coastal microclimate that Chardonnay thrives in. These cooler temperatures promote a longer growing season, allowing the grapes to ripen slowly and evenly while maintaining a bright, lively acidity that makes this Chardonnay deliciously refreshing. MoonWalker’s 2013 Santa Barbara County Chardonnay is a fresher, more youthful style Chardonnay that sips nicely on its own, but also holds up well to creamy-based pastas and oven baked fish or chicken. This Chardonnay was aged primarily in neutral oak barrels, to maintain the bright natural flavors without imparting too much oak. [+]
