Murphey’s Midnight Rounders play acoustic/power folk with elements of Rock, Celtic and Country.
Elaborate harmonies bring in Swing and Blues influences. Bluegrass and Root music also show their influence. The Rounders' music embraces all of these genres, and has a sound all their own.
Brad has distinguished himself as a versatile songwriter, arranger and guitarist. Original songs, such as, "Tom's Song" and "Soul of the Nation," are soulful fragments of lost dreams. Others, such as "Third Bombay" and "Uncle Chronic," give us insights into his twisted sense of humor. His arrangements of standards like, "Hard Times Come Again No More" and "Long Black Veil" are fresh and emotional. All members of the group take turns singing lead and backup vocals.
Along with Brad is Teresa Frank on vocals and, at times, second guitar. As our primary percussionist, she plays Bodhran, Congas and Djembe. Mandolin helps give a bluegrass flavor to the group's sound. Teresa's harmonies sweeten the texture and her solo work on songs like "Tom's Song" tug at the heart.
Murphey’s Midnight Rounders has performed at Festivals, Pubs, Clubs, and Coffeehouses around the country.
