Composed of Gresham Cash (guitar, vocals), Wes Kent (bass), Slade Adams (guitar, violin, synth) and Wes Gregory (drums), Oak House was formed in January 2014 in Athens,

GA. Cash and Kent casually played music together for years at house parties, on porches, and sometimes in church. Adams and Gregory also joined the band as a pair who had spent years playing together. Cash spent much of the last year alternating various band lineups (including Gresham’s Disco and Cedar Waxwing), seeking a group that would enable him creatively, both onstage and off. As a unit, the foursome is a dynamic force that is prolific in writing and magnetic in performance.

Oak House is simultaneously chaotic and symphonic, encompassing a range of genres that include experimental rock, grunge, anti-folk and indie rock. The cerebral songs shift rapidly but elegantly, creating an enthralling movement through music that is in one moment volatile and heavy and in another light and beautiful. Thrashing guitars, haunting vocals, alluring violin, and pounding drums create frenetic mood swings, articulated by lyrics of a man searching frantically for meaning. The lyrics, often sardonic and indirect, when joined with the music express a contentious battle between good and evil, love and hate, and an unending existential crisis.

Beginning in February 2014 to present, the band has finished recording their debut album "Plastique Cash" with producer/engineer/musician Ryan Monahan. They have also released a music video for their song titled "Little Queen" produced by Ethan Payne. [+]
