Oakville East 2010 Red Blend Core Stone

The Core Stone is very youthful and has surprising but exciting tropical notes. The mouthfeel is purity, focus, and density, due to the Cabernet Franc showing off. The wine exhibits some youthful rusticity in combination with the soft, elegant, ripe, and full tannin structure. As always with Core Stone, the wine has an almost sweet entry, and the ripe fruit jumps out of the glass. The mid palate is enveloped by velvety fruit impressions of sweet cola, cherry, violet, blueberries, blackberries, and licorice that are integrated with spicy oak notes. The wine is well balanced with acid and tannins with a long fruit finish. [+]
