In Old Moshi Hostel breakfast is included with the price, along with other comforts including hot showers, a fan in each room, lockable drawers, Wi-Fi and universal outlets. Unlike many other businesses, Old Moshi is run and staffed entirely by local residents. Here you will find volunteer opportunities with organizations and institutions that are also run by locals, giving you a proper taste of the Tanzanian way of life and culture.
Old Moshi Hostel is located in a quiet neighborhood near city center called Soweto. Here you will get a closer look at Tanzanian culture with the additional safety of accommodation that is guarded 24/7 by our guard. Soweto has many bars and restaurants to choose from, including the popular Pamela bar located just around the corner from our facility. Reaching town can be done by walking, taking the bus (also referred to as 'daladala') or taxi.
Old Moshi Hostel offers mixed two-bed and four-bed dorms along with one double bedroom for travelers seeking more privacy. Volunteers have dinner included in their stay while backpackers have the option of paying for this meal. Food is cooked by a chef using vegetables grown from our own garden. We also offer to arrange day trips, safaris and Kilimanjaro climbs.
