Old Town

Over 100 years ago, the Old Town Canoe Company was born in Old Town, Maine, which has been the ancestral home of the Penobscot tribe for centuries. Old Town drew from the rich canoe building history of the Penobscot tribe, and in 1898, founders A.E. Wickett and George Gray built their first wood and canvas canoe using inspiration from Penobscot watercraft designs. These first canoes were built with care and attention to quality and detail, which quickly made them extremely popular. Old Town soon became the largest canoe manufacturer in the world! Through the years, Old Town has continued to built quality, innovative boats with the same passion and commitment to detail as they did in the beginning. Today, they are one of the premier manufacturers of Royalex® and rotomolded plastic boats, with a focus on recreational and sporting canoes and kayaks. [+]
