Patrick A. Pohlen is a partner in Latham & Watkins' Silicon Valley office, where he is the global Co-chair of the firm's Emerging Company Practice and a member of the firm's Corporate Department. Mr. Pohlen is one of the nation's leading attorneys in representing technology, life science and cleantech companies and the financial institutions (venture capitalists and investment banks) that finance them. His practice focuses on company representation (public and private), general corporate counseling, corporate governance, private finance, public offerings, securities, mergers and acquisitions.
Prior to joining Latham, Mr. Pohlen ran a venture-backed technology company. This experience makes him especially attuned to the business and legal issues facing emerging growth companies today.
Mr. Pohlen works with many private and public companies, advising them on corporate governance and other legal matters.

Mr. Pohlen has also been a lecturer at the University of California at Berkeley’s Coleman Fung Institute for Engineering Leadership and Carnegie Mellon University.
