Patrick Merrill

Powerful compositions and an signature infectious melodies, Los Angeles based singer/songwriter Patrick Merrill’s 2011 collection of acoustic songs, Satellites Session, is by far his most significant and powerful release since he began writing and recording music nearly a decade ago. Merrill teamed up with engineer-producer Eugene Pererras to record the raw and exposed collection of acoustic songs, which is best represented by the title track, “Satellites”.

Merrill has been diligently writing and preparing to record his first proper LP release, with a tentative early 2013 date to enter the studio to record. As much of a stepping stone as Satellites Session was for him, his new music will truly and significantly take a strong leap forward. Organic and powerful emotion evoking songs wrapped in balls of energy are what will define the upcoming record. Merrill doesn’t lose his melodic flare, but thoughtfully crafts his lyrics to create more provoking music for the listeners and beautifully crafts the music to have one thinking they were listening to arena rock rather than acoustic music.

Merrill got his start playing in various bands throughout the Los Angeles music scene and has spent more than a decade crafting his sound. His music is reminiscent of the pop-rock scene he grew up in, such notable influence as Blink 182 and Third Eye Blind, as well as singer-songwriter’s such as Jeff Buckley and Damien Rice. Evident undertones of his eclectic musical pallet, make the listener want to keep coming back to explore and engross themselves in his songs.

Patrick has gotten solid footing once more in the Los Angeles music scene, captivating audiences with just his voice, guitar, and humor. He has proven time and time again to be a powerful force as both a performer and songwriter who continues to grow. [+]
